Shipping Policy

The average Processing lead time to ship product is about 24-48 hours, and LTL orders will ship within 2-5 business days.
Shipping in seasons: Parcel orders normally ship within 48-72 hours, and LTL orders ship within 7-8 business days.

Please note that UPS and FedEx cannot ship to a PO Box. We currently ship within the contiguous 48 states.

We will need your Fed ID number when shipping across the border of Canada to the USA.

Additional charges will apply if shipping to Hawaii, Alaska, or Canada.

We do not ship Roth products to Canada.

 TERMS OF DELIVERY: Smoky Mountain Emporium, Inc. standard terms and conditions of sale include F.O.B. shipping point. This means that the title to goods is transferred to the customer when the material leaves the shipping point. All freight damage or short shipment claims must be filed with the carrier involved by the customer. Smoky Mountain Emporium, Inc. will assist in filing the claims when the customer requests. Concealed damage or shortages must be reported to Smoky Mountain Emporium, Inc. within 48 hours of receipt of material. All transportation charges from the point of shipment of the purchased product are the purchaser's responsibility unless expressly agreed to by Smoky Mountain Emporium, Inc. in writing. Transportation charges will be made freight collected or prepaid and billed on our invoice as freight and handling to the purchaser.

SMALL PACKAGES:

SHIPPING METHOD: Small packages will ship prepaid and added via UPS unless otherwise specified. Small packages will ship via third-party accounts with SME’s prior approval. Available shipping options are UPS and FedEx. SME will only ship to the US and Canada. SME cannot ship to PO, APO, or FPO Boxes.

DAMAGES: If the shipment is shipped to SME’s supplier account and arrives damaged, the receiver should sign for packages as damaged with the carrier and immediately contact SME. The SMEs' suppliers will handle the claims and replacement process if they are shipped to the SMEs' suppliers' accounts.  If the shipment is shipped on receiver or 3rd party accounts, the customer must process the claim with the carrier. SME and its suppliers accept no responsibility for handling freight claims that do not ship on its account.  SME reserves the right to request photographs of any damages for claims purposes. All claims for damages must be filed within (5) days of receipt of shipment.

SHORTAGES: All claims for shortages on a shipment must be received within (5) days of receipt of shipment.

LTL/MOTOR FREIGHT:

The customer or an authorized adult must be present upon delivery to accept, sign, and inspect the shipment or accept responsibility for any damages incurred during shipment.

SHIPPING METHOD: All LTL freight will be shipped prepaid and added via the best way unless otherwise specified.  Shipments will not be processed until a complete and full shipping address is received.  Accessorial charges will be added as necessary based on the following required information.

Lift Gate Requirements: If the recipient address does not have a loading dock, a lift gate is required, and a lift gate charge will apply. If the SME cannot determine if a lift gate will be required, it will be assumed that one is. All delivery addresses in residential areas will require lift gates.

Inside Delivery: If the freight carrier has to deliver the shipment into a building or onto a building site, inside delivery charges will apply. All delivery addresses in residential areas will require inside delivery.

Delivery Contact: A contact person and phone number are required for all LTL shipments. Shipments will not be processed without contact information.

Residential/Commercial:  Shipment must be specified, whether residential or commercial.  If the shipment is not specified, it will be assumed to be residential.

ADDITIONAL FREIGHT: If SME incurs additional freight charges, they will be billed to the customer.  Examples of additional freight charges include but are not limited to the Freight carrier being unable to deliver initially and having to schedule a re-delivery, it was determined that a lift gate and inside delivery were required when it wasn’t specified in the original shipment, the address was determined to be residential when commercial was specified or if the shipment address had to be corrected while the shipment was in transit. 

OBVIOUS FREIGHT DAMAGE: If a shipment is received with obvious freight damage, REFUSE the shipment. If you choose not to refuse the shipment, the shipment must be signed “Received as Damaged,” and the SME must be contacted immediately. If the shipment were not signed for as damaged with obvious freight damage, it would significantly hamper the ability of the claims process. If the freight was sent to the SME’s supplier’s account, the SME supplier will handle the claims process. If the cargo is shipped on the customer’s account, it is the customer’s responsibility to process the claim with the carrier. SME accepts no responsibility for handling freight claims that do not ship on its account. The customer has (1) day from receipt of shipment to contact SME about obvious freight damage. SME reserves the right to request photographs of any damages for claims purposes.

CONCEALED FREIGHT DAMAGE: If a shipment is received with concealed freight damage, contact SME immediately upon discovering the damage. If the freight was shipped to the SME’s supplier’s account, the SME supplier will handle the claims process. If the cargo is shipped on the customer’s account, it is the customer’s responsibility to process the claim with the carrier. SME accepts no responsibility for handling freight claims that do not ship on its account. The customer has (5) days from receipt of shipment to contact SME about concealed freight damage. SME reserves the right to request photographs of any damages for claims purposes.
